300 m³/min of Temporary Air network. Zero Production Downtime.
When a critical compressed air pipeline had to be replaced, shutting down production was not an option. Zeevenhooven Air engineered and supplied a temporary compressed air solution consisting of 13 × 25 m³/min compressors, operating simultaneously to provide the capacity required to keep the plant running throughout the replacement. A large-scale temporary air supply, designed around one priority: continuity of production.

The challenge
The plant’s existing compressed air pipeline formed a critical part of the production infrastructure. To replace the pipeline safely, it had to be taken completely out of service.
Production, however, needed to continue.
This meant the temporary installation had to take over the required compressed air capacity while replacement works were being carried out. With a substantial and continuous air demand, there was little room for interruption or insufficient capacity.
The challenge was therefore not simply to supply additional compressors. It was to create a temporary compressed air infrastructure capable of supporting the production process for the duration of the project.

The vision
We approached the project from the perspective of business continuity.
Instead of looking at the compressors as individual machines, we considered the complete temporary air requirement: the required capacity, reliability of supply, positioning of the equipment and integration with the customer’s existing infrastructure.
The objective was clear: create a temporary compressed air system that could take over the function of the existing pipeline and allow the replacement work to proceed without disrupting production.
By combining sufficient capacity with careful preparation and technical expertise, planned maintenance could take place while the plant remained operational.
The solution
Zeevenhooven Air supplied and installed 13 compressors, each delivering approximately 25 m³/min, creating a combined installed capacity of approximately 300 m³/min.
The compressors operated simultaneously as part of one temporary compressed air solution, providing the airflow required while the permanent process pipeline was unavailable.
The installation was planned around the requirements of the plant and connected to the existing compressed air infrastructure, allowing the temporary system to take over the air supply during the replacement.
With the required equipment, connections and technical support brought together in one solution, the customer had the temporary capacity needed to carry out the pipeline replacement while maintaining normal operations.

The result
13 compressors. Approximately 325 m³/min of installed capacity. Production kept running.
The temporary compressed air system provided the capacity required throughout the pipeline replacement, allowing critical maintenance work to proceed without a production shutdown.
Instead of adapting production to the maintenance project, the temporary infrastructure was designed around the needs of the production process.
The result was a reliable, scalable and carefully planned temporary air solution that protected operational continuity while giving the maintenance teams the opportunity to complete the replacement safely and efficiently.
One critical pipeline out of service. One temporary system keeping production moving.
